Twenty-year population and dwelling projections were built at small-area and local-authority level by combining a probabilistic population model, an economic model tracking the historical relationship between migration and economic activity, and consultation with regional migration specialists.
The projections gave the network operator a small-area basis for planning electricity infrastructure over a twenty-year horizon.
