George town heritage precinct survey

Think City

Firstly in 2009, and then again in 2014, we were commissioned by the Malaysian Federal Government to undertake a land use census of the World Heritage listed port city of George Town, Penang. The project was part of the requirements for retaining heritage status and included an audit of 8,000 dwellings and buildings (including the jetty communities); documenting building condition, floorspace and undertaking a population and employment census in a multilingual community. We then compile and map the data into a report.
