Kevin is an economic geographer with a background in economic and population modelling and analysis, labour market research and arts and cultural planning. Prior to Geografia, Kevin worked for an urban policy consultancy group specialising in land-use analysis and demography. He also worked for several State agencies in senior policy and research positions where he designed and implemented policies and programs in creative industries development, capital works planning and undertook research into education, training and employment. Kevin has also taught urban and economic planning at universities in both Western Australia and Victoria.

Kevin’s recent work has focused on analysis of local and regional development pathways through the construction of sophisticated population and economic development models. Recent relevant projects include:

  • modelling the community and local economic impact of mine projects;
  • analysing the drivers of employment self-containment patterns; and
  • developing dynamic models of regional development.

Kevin maintains his understanding in this field through regularly researching and writing articles on economic planning and analysis.
